The cost of painting a house depends on the scope of work, required labor and supplies.

Paint and supplies usually make up about 15 to 25 percent of the cost, with the remaining 75 to 85 percent going towards labor. The paint itself can cost anywhere from $25 to $75 a gallon, depending on the quality and type. Additional expenses may include drop cloths, tape, scaffolding, carpentry repairs, and cleaning the surface area. Most of the time a soft wash will clean the exterior areas, but in some cases, we need to use a power washer to get the dirt and grit off.
